The difference between successful keepers and breeders and those that are not comes down to the information they have about their animals. Successful breeders accurately document their ongoing activities and use this information to improve their husbandry techniques. When something works, it is recorded and referred to again. When something doesn't, the mistake is not repeated. And regardless of your good intentions, if you do not record your results, chances are likely that you will forget.
TRACSŪ Animal Control System allows you easily enter important facts on each of your animals. You will be able to record information identifying when a specimen began hibernation, when breeding pairs mated, number of eggs laid, incubation period, sex of hatchlings, etc. And when you need to find information, a few simple keystrokes will quickly retrieve the data so that you can continually use the knowledge that you have gained to improve your results.
The TRACSŪ Animal Control System is a true relational data base with multiple files storing information by individual animal, clutch, enclosures, incubators and a name and address file of other breeders with whom you deal. Files are linked so that you can quickly move between views of individual animals, clutches and enclosures.

All files contain note pads to record your observations and activities. Unique data and code fields allow you to retrieve and view relevant notes later without having to pour through the entire diary.
You can view and print your information using one of the pre-defined report layouts ( such as the pedigree or offspring report) or you can design your own reports using the customized report option. You select the records you want to see, in the order you want to see them. Your customized report format options are almost limitless.
Laws are always changing. While your animal may have been legal when you obtained it, today's laws might make it a protected species requiring permits and other paperwork. Or perhaps you are breeding or have legally obtained protected species - how do you prove it? TRACSŪ Animal Control System provided you with documentation you need to protect your collection. You can record where and how an animal was obtained, any breeding activity that occurred and how it was disposed. TRACSŪ allows you to print or download the history to disk, which you can make available to anyone who purchases your animals, protecting yourself and your customer.
TRACSŪ Animal Control System allows you to create more than one data base. This feature enable you to keep groups of animals separate. Maintain a separate data base for a species, genus or family. You can also create an archive data base for herps that have been sold, died or no longer in you possession. Archiving effectively removes the individual specimen from the active data base but you will still have the data on your disk and can easily refer to it.
A unique group code feature allows you to assign up to six group codes for each specimen. Assign some animals to the control group and others to your research groups. Each group of animals may be listed and processed by their group code. The best part is that each group code is user-defined. Any two characters can be a group code allowing you to create codes that are meaningful to you.
TRACSŪ Animal Control System also enables you to create export files which you can load into your other software products. Use your word processor, graph and chart programs or your statistics programs without having to re-enter data.
TRACSŪ Animal Control System will help you spot trends early, uncover problems and constantly be assured that you are applying the best husbandry practices to your collection. The improvements you will see will make TRACSŪ the cornerstone of all your activities.
